Over the next two weeks Devcentre is showing solidarity with Creative Freedom in opposing the introduction of Section92A of the new Copyright Act. The new Copyright Act was signed into law late in the term of the last Government which rammed through the section despite virtually every IT organisation in the country opposing it.

Iran launches first Satellite

Iran has launched its first Satellite, and as a consequence there has been much discussion about the threat this presents in terms of Iran's nuclear delivery capability. However, some are concerned that the real message Iran was sending in the form of the name of the Satellite has been missed. The name is "Hope".

Lucky I didn't buy a Hybrid

In may I wrote an article about Hybrid Cars. It was an analysis of the time for break even. It made what I thought was a reasonable assumption at the time; that the price of petrol would continue to increase. In November before the US election the price of petrol was one of the major issues along with the economy. Since then things have changed in a big way, and it isn't all positive.
